Ashes into Bullets, A Legacy in Gunpowder
AUGUST 3, 2011 TAGS:
Stephen Colbert, that gleeful prankster, thinks he's found the way he'd like to be honored when he dies. The Alabama company Holy Smoke puts human cremains into bullets, letting survivors shoot off a couple rounds of their loved ones. 250 bullets will set you back $1200.As Colbert put it, "This is a great day for America, folks." Watch the video below for some great 2nd Amendment jokes.
This sort of high caliber ash scattering is a new spin on an increasingly potent idea that the human body can be transformed into whatever the deceased held dear, or whatever the family might think is fun.
If you're a audiophile, turn your ashes into an LP. Want to glimmer into eternity? Become a diamond. Are you an art lover? Have an artist create a painting with your ashes. Scuba fan? Become a reef. If you'd like to be cremated then lit up again, throw your ashes into a joint and have your loved ones get high on you at your funeral. Your ashes can go to space. Your ashes can ride shotgun at a NASCAR race. Your ashes can do pretty much anything you want them to, or anything you couldn't do while you were still alive.
One circumstance where I can see Holy Smoke's product being perfect for (and this is not an endorsement or encouragement, just a tepid observation) REVENGE!
