Dave Freeman, Wrote 100 Things To Do Before You Die, Dies at 47

AUGUST 26, 2008        TAGS:          ADD A COMMENT
Dave Freeman, the wily ad executive who made millions and unwittingly began a sub-genre of travel writing by publishing his 100 Places Things to Do Before You Die in 1999, died on August 17. He was 47. Freeman fell at his home in Venice, Calif., sustaining a fatal head injury.

Certainly it is an ironic death for a man known for his wide-travels. But it seems to indicate that Freeman was most at home while on the road…

The question remains, did Freeman actually do all of the things he prescribed in his book? According to the Los Angeles Times’ obit, no he didn’t. He visited about half of them, preferring to travel alone.

Read the Obit from the Los Angeles Times.
